Barbara "Bobbye" Brown

Bobbye in lotusYoga Basics and Gentle Somatic Yoga Teacher

Bobbye Brown left the corporate cube following her passion & love of yoga to become a teacher of the practice she had discovered some twenty-four years prior. She is a dedicated yoga teacher having taught six years with over with 1,400 hours experience to share with her students (as of December 2019). She enjoys teaching all levels; vinyasa, somatic, gentle, foundation, restorative, and chair yoga; as well as conducting workshops on the chakras combining meditative singing bowls.  

In teaching it is Bobbye's desire to inspire students “to close the external doors” in order to find a quiet mind, calm body, and connecting breath as the thread that weaves the mind-body together. Her desire is to serve her students by providing the road map to calm the mind and tune the body as they find new pathways to live better in their bodies…“Yoga is like music, the rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind, and the harmony of the soul, creates the symphony of life."  B.K.S. Bobbye is registered with National Yoga Alliance & holds certifications of RYT-500, ERYT200 &YACEP.  She earned her 200 hour RYT certification in Hatha Ashtanga primary series; and most recently received her 300 Hour Prajna Yoga certification. She has received her certification in SATYA (Sensory Awareness Training for Yoga); this is a somatic practice that complements yoga and was developed by Tias Little, Prajna Yoga, Santa Fe NM. The somatic yoga is a flowing yin style practice done on the floor guiding you back to “being movement rather than doing movement”. Bobbye is a forever student and is continuing her study with Tias Surya Little, Prajna Yoga’s 500 hour program to dive deeper into the journey of learning. She shares her love of teaching by volunteering in health-wellness programs in addition to participating in the 200 hour teacher training mentorship program.
