Acupuncture has been a powerful healing modality in China for thousands of years and is now widely accepted in Western medicine for relieving a wide range of conditions. Using ultra-fine, sterile needles, Karen painlessly stimulates precise points along the course of the 14 energy ‘superhighways’ in your body, called channels. The process allows your body to heal itself and regain strength, function and optimal health. And, for most people, there are no negative side effects.
What happens in an Acupuncture session?
Most people find acupuncture treatments to be very relaxing. Your first visit includes a Holistic Health and Wellness Assessment to determine your level of health in areas such as pain, digestion, sleep, energy, and emotional well-being. Most acupuncture treatments are done fully clothed. However, from time to time, there will be a need to access acupuncture points or do cupping on your back, at which time, you’ll have a sheet covering all parts not being worked on.
In addition to acupuncture, Karen also utilizes cupping, gua sha, moxibustion and herbal therapy as needed. To learn more about these other Chinese Medicine modalities visit dogwoodhealingarts.com/services.
How can Acupuncture help you?
While pain is the most common reason people seek out acupuncture treatment, it is incredibly effective in treating quite a number of conditions including stress, anxiety, depression, infertility, menstruation and menopausal discomfort, insomnia and digestive disorders. If you are seeking a substantive change in your health, acupuncture may be the answer you are looking for.
How many treatments will you need?
Most people see significant improvements in six to ten treatments. Often there is noticeable improvement after the first visit.
